It has been REALLY busy for me.  Work, holidays, and dating have kept me on my toes not to mention the new 4.3.4 AC Tool that was released.

Sorry, no web stuff has been done and I am falling behind on my gallery posts.  However, I will try and get something out before year end.

No movie pick either since I haven't seen any good movies recently.  I can tell you that Wind Talkers is a horrible movie and should be avoided at all costs.

10/21/2002

More cleanup of grammar, links, and other small stuff on a bunch of the pages.  I also posted some more of that AC Tool stuff for those interested.  Look around... you will find new stuff I promise.

Gallery posts should be coming sometime in the next couple hours.  Lots of people sent images, but I already had a pretty large back log so I won't be posting the images emailed to me this round.  I will save them for next round so I don't have to dig around the net as much.  Thanks for all the submissions and they will be included.  I redid the babes section.  There are several new images in there, but they are going to be all scrambled since the re-organization.  Check the Gallery History for the specifics of the update.

... Life Stuff follows ...

Just getting over Strep and the Common Cold at the same time.  Been healthy all year then October sneaks up with an allergic reaction to some medication for a stomach virus I managed to catch and then Strep.  Lets hope I have all this crap out of the way for the rest of the year.

Jon... Jon... Jon... He is a married man now and I hope he is enjoying his honeymoon.  I certainly enjoyed his bachelor party!  Yes, I do have a VERY evil grin on my face.

I have been holding out on posting this news, but my current work project is coming to a head at the end of this month (that is why news and posts have slowed).  I should be getting busier as the year continues forward for a variety of reasons including holidays, but not before I have time to CELEBRATE baby!

... End Life Stuff ...

Update Movie Pick: True Romance - For those wise enough to read my mini-bio, this is no surprise.  For the rest of you, this is one of my all time favorite moves.  It is violent and deserves its rated R rating.  So what is there to love in this movie you ask.  Just for background, you have Brad Pitt as a stoner, Val Kimmer as dead Elvis, Dennis Hopper with the funniest Sicily dialog ever spouted on film, Gary Oldman as a white pimp who thinks he is black, Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) playing a bad ass that just isn't bad enough, Christopher Walken as an Sicilian at the end of  Hoppers rant, and that is just the supporting cast.  Written by Tarantino and directed by Tony Scott.  If you like action, dialog, and just a really great messed up story.  This one is for you!

Some changes to note.  Changed the Car Audio page into two pages.  One for the car and one for the living room.  You will also notice a few more links around the site.  Notably on the Fun Page and on the Motorcycle Resource page.  Otherwise, not much going on around the site.

No gallery posts this week, but a big one is coming next week.  Otherwise no news to report.

09/27/2002

This is just a quick trip to the site for pity.  I have been ill all week and have actually managed to get tired of sleeping and watching TV...  never thought that could happen.

Anyway, I am turning the Update Movie Pick to the Don't Watch This Movie Pick for this installment.  I know this is going to be a real sore spot for a lot of people, but Mullholland Drive should be avoided.  Normally, I am really into story lines that depart from the cookie cutter plots usually punched out by Hollywood.  However, this is really a pile (save for some great acting by the two leading ladies) of something that doesn't smell too good.  It has been interpreted as some kind of genius script.  Don't read any further if you want to watch this film with a clean slate...  Spoilers a coming... The first two-thirds of this movie is a dream which is pretty easy to figure out and I really hate such a cop out in a movie script.  Once a director enters dreamville, they start going all strange for the sake of being strange.  Everything is exaggerated and of course this script freedom (reality can be suspended after all) is interpreted as some sort of Nuevo genius.  It is like calling a youngsters crayon coloring book filled with crayon coloring that couldn't stay in the lines a master work of art.  To further confuse us, Lynch throws in a bunch of unrelated scenes.  My guess the director wanted the viewer to be further provoked by the film.  Guess what...  I wasn't.  The blue box and the old laughing couple... doesn't mean a thing.  He just stuck that crap in to mess with the viewer and create further thought on the film.  My guess is Lynch views this movie much like an artist views his abstract painting.  You may view it the same, but as for me... I like a little clever in my scripts and if you are going to pull the top of reality you better do a REALLY creative job of it not just a bunch of strangeness strung together and punctuated by a really hot lesbian sex scene.

That is my piece on Lynch's Mullholland Drive.

Quick update of AC Tool to fix the fizzle detection.  Check out the AC Tool Forums and AC Tool Page for more information.

09/20/2002

Long time no post.  I have been working my A** off trying to get my current software project passable as a sellable product.  Enough of me, I will post a gallery update soon.

In the meantime, I did manage to cobble together a new AC Tool Beta (RC5) and a new version of AC Tool 4.1 (4.1.10) that handles the September patch.  Check the AC Tool Page for more information.

Only real site update to speak of is the actual creation of my AC thanks page after contributing with PayPal.  Never noticed it didn't exist before.

Update Movie Pick: Whipped - I love this movie.  It is one of those really low budget character films that went mostly unnoticed by critics and movie goers.  The story revolves around four typical or rather stereotypical guys and the woman that turns the tables on them.  Whether you are married or single, there will be a lot of this movie you will identify with and more you will laugh with.  Great movie.

08/15/2002

As promised a huge image gallery update has been posted.  Check out the Image Gallery History for the complete list.

As for life in general still keeping up that hectic work schedule.  SQL Server progress is being made.  I don't miss much from Interbase, but EMS Quickdesk is definitely missed.

08/13/2002

Just thought I would let everyone know that I have a TON of work finally.  I am no longer slacking at the office, so feel free to drop me a line and make fun of me while it lasts!

In other news, the RC2 of AC Tool 4.3 has been released.  If you are an AC Tool Contributor, check out the latest greatest since this is likely the final version of 4.3 which is significantly better than 4.1.8.

There is a looming HUGE update (500+ new images) to the galleries.  I will be posting the update and including my Update Movie Pick at some point in the next few days.  Until then, have a good one.

08/10/2002

I decided to figure out how to spoof the http referrer today and at the same time beef up my galleries with a ton of new images.  The result is an impending huge gallery post and a really neat Delphi program with source.  Basically, the program downloads all the images from Mark Mance's Photo Gallery.  Currently, that is all that it does.  However if someone wants to download other Epson PhotoCenter galleries, I will modify the program to either accept a generic path or hardcode their gallery.

As for the source, it uses the FastNet components that are included with Delphi 6 to get the job done.  It was pretty easy to spoof the referrer, but the HTML parser took about an hour due to all the trial and error involved.  Either way, you should be able to enjoy the PhotoCenter Downloader Source.

Last but not least, I finally posted my DnD Tool source.  No big deal really, but someone could use it to make a fairly powerful utility.

08/08/2002

Another update to the Image Gallery History and Image Galleries has been done.  I moved several of the ladies galleries under then new section called Musicians.  I felt this would be more appropriate.

AC Tool Release Candidate 1 has been posted to my Beta Forums.  If you are an AC Tool contributor, check it out.  If you use AC Tool and aren't a contributor, go contribute!

08/07/2002

Been a really busy week work wise.  Getting a demo together means we have been scrambling to put our Humpty-Dumpty back together.  Finished getting it ready today.  Our product is coming along nicely and should be ready for Beta soon.

Useful website news:  First, the image galleries now have a nice PayPal Donate icon on them.  Please drop by and kick in a few bucks if you have it.  Hosting this stuff isn't cheap and I like to think I have been providing a valuable service.  Second, more images have been added to the image galleries.  You can go to the Image Gallery History to see which galleries have been updated.  Lastly, AC Tool 4.3 Beta 4 was uploaded today.  One or two more releases until the final version goes out to the world.

07/29/2002

Life-wise nothing new to report really.

Looks like AC Tool is all but dead.  The forums have slowed to a trickle and contributions are few and far in between.  I doubt I will be adding any further features to the product and I will likely be releasing the beta as public domain sometime in the next few weeks.

As for website news:  First, the Image Gallery History has been updated with all the new images posted this evening.  In addition, I managed to wiggle another 100MB from my hosting company so I don't have to trim the image galleries anytime soon.  Second, a new page has been added so users can see my Movie Picks in one place.  I lost all my picks before May, but now I can use them again!  Third, the navigation bar on the left has been alphabetized.  I did this so it would have some type of order.  Lastly, the Site Map is now complete.  I managed to borrow some macro code and mangle it so that it pastes the Site Map for me automatically.  Enjoy!

07/24/2002

HostMySite gets my business for another year it seems.  I have no desire to move after that last total screw up and things seem to be working.  I am busting at the seams, but I guess I will have to reign in some of the galleries and keep an eye on the forum size.

The galleries should be back up and running.  I renamed all the files so they has some consistency to them.  Also, a bunch of new files have been added to the galleries, but there is no easy way to figure out which files so the Image Gallery History will not be updated.  I know there are some new Ali Landry pics out there as well as some new News Babes.  You will just have to look through them to find them all.

07/23/2002

I am not moving after all.  Nexpoint turns out to be pretty useless.  It took them forever to get me setup and then due to a problem on their part, they shut me down without notice.  So, I will be staying here for a while.  I am looking into another hosting company called Matrix Resellers, but it doesn't save me any money to go with them.  I may just stay here and live with my limitations.  Haven't decided yet.

Anyway, thought I would let you all know what was going on.

07/20/2002 - Continued

I admit it.  I am smitten by a woman on TV as sad as that is.  I don't know a thing about her, but I am still glued to the tube when she is on.  Her name is Dagen McDowell and she is a financial analyst on Fox News.  She is obviously very attractive, but I think it is that perfect southern accent that really gets me.  Also, she is a very smart lass.  That raven black hair and incredible smile doesn't hurt any either.  Anyway, thought I would fess up after having an actual emotional reaction to Jonus's criticism of her fund pick.  Her pick tanked pretty hard while his went down marginally.  She looked so remorseful and he "kicked her when she was down", by further criticizing her after she owned up to the bad pick.  In case you have no idea who I am talking about, you can find a picture or her here.  Lets hope I can move past this and onto more fruitful pursuits.  Wish me luck.

Last but not least if you are a comic fan, make sure you check out the Fall Season of the WB.  Angel and Smallville are making it back for more, but a new show called Birds of Prey is hitting the line up.  It is a "What If" story of an affair between Batman and Catwoman that produced a child with the supernatural abilities of Catwoman and the justice seeker drive in Batman.  Great premise for a Sci-Fi show if you ask me.

07/20/2002

Still moving.  I will hopefully relocate on Monday (7/22) at 3AM.  Once again, I will be moving the website to http://cameroncolenet.nexpoint.net.  This website will redirect you over to the new website by IP for the next few days while the DNS cameroncole.net gets propagated.  Everything is now setup over there so it should be fairly painless, but you know how things like this are.  The final note is my mail server will be (has been) moving as well.  I finally just attached to the IPs so it shouldn't matter where you send me an email any longer.

As for personal news... none.  For those in the know, I have been celibate (completely) all year except for one slip up with a lovely lass last month.  I may be jumping back in soon however.  Even though I still believe most women to be evil (men are just idiots), I have regained some hope that their may be one out there that isn't "taken" and isn't "evil".  So if you know someone looking in the Georgia area that is interested in hanging out and taking it slow, let me know.  I really enjoy dating especially first dates and have been missing it a lot lately.

07/13/2002

On Monday (7/14) at 3AM, I will be moving the website to http://cameroncolenet.nexpoint.net.  This website will redirect you over to the new website by IP for the next few days while the DNS cameroncole.net gets propagated.  The message boards will be coming down for that day as well.  I am hoping to have it up quickly on Monday, but problems happens.  I will keep everyone up-to-date on the status here.

07/10/2002

As many of you know, the website is moving in the next week or so.  I am still in the process of setting everything up, but I should have it done in a day or so.  I will not move until I am pretty happy with the setup.  You will notice that the galleries have been taken down from this site.  I did this to make it easier to transfer.  If you want to take a stroll in the galleries, you need to point your browser at:

http://cameroncolenet.nexpoint.net/cgi-bin/imagefolio.cgi

It should be fully functional other than the forums.  I am currently setting the forums up, so hopefully we will be able to test those in a couple days.

07/07/2002

Have two additions to the webpage this weekend.  First, an entire new area called the Airsoft Vault.  If you don't know what Airsoft is, check out the page.  Second, I finally posted my Neverwinter Nights Character Builder module.  It gives access to all the stores, gold, exp, and even spawns monsters on demand.  Everything you need to battle test those characters.

07/04/2002

Been a few weeks and we finally have crossed the 100k mark on main page hits.  Of course my galleries and forums give about 50k hits a day, but it is nice to see a few hundred people popping my main page daily.  Anyway on with the news.

Lets go over all the site updates.  First, a whole new set of images has been posted to the galleries.  Check out the  Image Gallery History for more information.  Second, I have FINALLY updated my Friends Page to include Tina.  Hopefully this will curb the "complaints".  Finally, Super Friends versus Darth Steve has seen the light of day.  I am guessing only people who know "The Extreme" AKA Steve will find this funny, but that last pic is worth checking out regardless.

Neverwinter Nights has hit and I have been sucked in the last week or so.  It is an awesome game and I give it a strong 5 out 5 rating.  It has a lot of room for improvement, but I consider it one of the most ambitious games ever.  BTW, the Fighter/Thief combo in the game is just evil.  Also, I created a module for rebuilding characters.  Nothing great, but you can recreate characters at any level, with any gold, and have access to all the high level shops.

06/14/2002

Laptop is back up and running and my birthday has come and gone.  I am now officially 31 and nothing has really changed since 30 (thankfully).

No real site updates, but I did manage to get AC Tool 4.1.7 out today.

I have a friend who harasses me CONSTANTLY about pics of her not on my website.  I will be posting some next week.  I have another friend who has failed to duck my camera on several events going up as well.  Check back next week for those and more pics added to the gallery.

06/03/2002

My laptop hard drive bit it hard so I lost lots of goodies including my next huge image gallery posting.  I will get a bunch of new images soon.  In the meantime, I will post what I have gathered this evening to tide everyone over.  I am hoping to dig up a lot of Oxana Fedorova (Miss Universe 2002) and get them posted here.  Police Lt., law degree, Miss Universe, amazing looking...  wow... they can really grow them over in Russia.  She even managed to pick up usable English in about two weeks.

Here is the Image Gallery History.  I have also posted a preliminary Oxana Gallery.

No real other life news to speak of save for my birthday coming this weekend.  Hitting 31 and loving life.  Wish me a happy B-Day if you can spare a moment.

Added a new page under Game Corner called Needed Remakes!  Basically, it is my list of classic games needing a make over.  Let me know what you think.

05/18/2002

First let me state that I do grade on a curve.  If you throw several 10s of millions into a movie and market the hell out of it, I am going to be more harsh on it than a movie that costs 10 million to make.  Fair no, but I really don't care.  Get me excited about a movie then you better deliver.  So, what is all this for... well my StarWars Episode II review that follows.

Episode 2 Attack of the Crap... err... Clones is a pretty foul flick save for an over abundance of amazing CGI.  I said before this movie came out that it wouldn't surprise me if this were a badly written love story with some cool special effects.  Guess what... it was a REALLY badly written love story with a ton of CGI.  I usually love being right (as any of my friends know), but this is one time I really hated it.

Lets start with the acting.  In an action movie, as long as the plot moves along Arnold or his clone can say whatever cheesy lines they want with whatever delivery they like.  You are led through one action sequence after another and the dialog is more of an after thought.  A love story requires excellent writing, chemistry, and actual acting ability.  The dialog drives the movie.  The characters draw you into their world.  In all fairness, there are a lot of characters in this movie making it doubly tough to get everyone's stories told and even the best directors with a good script would have probably had a hard time translating it to screen.  That consideration aside, having your leading man look like he just passed gas every single time he delivers an important line really hurts the delivery.  Next up is Portman.  She has absolutely no passion in this movie.  After Anakin kills a bunch of men, women and children, she responds with an "it'll be ok" line that has absolutely no emotion.  When delivering the cheesy lines, she never looks excited, afraid, or passionate.  As for the other actors, they saw very little face time and thus no true gauge of their performance can be measured.  However if I had Mr. Jackson on my payroll, he would do more than deliver up a handful of relatively meaningless lines.

On with the script.  Did anyone actually read this crap before they put it on screen?  The love lines are so over the top they are just unbelievable.  Remember little Anie being a sweet kid?  Well 10 years of discipline and guidance has made him a spoiled brat.  In what world would ten years of strict monastery/military training turn a good kid rotten?  You expect to see his character disciplined with emotion boiling just below the surface.  However, you get a child that needs to be put into timeout in almost every scene.  He can't even control his emotions in front of the senator and queen.  Obi is well acted, but the writing really messes up an otherwise well done performance.  He keeps telling his apprentice to stop being so reckless, yet he does whatever fool thing comes into his mind (jumping out the window was... well... pretty stupid).  Don't even get me started on all the improbabilities like jumping out of a levitating vehicle, falling some 100 stories, and landing on the vehicle they were just chasing.  I can buy a lot especially with the mystical force involved, but that is just plain stupid.

Villain... Villain... Villain!  For heaven's sake, put a freakin villain in these films.  The truth of the matter is that an action flick needs a great villain to be great.  The sad part is they have the villains, but they just don't use them.  The Emperor, Maul and Dooku see at best 10 minutes combined in Episode 1 and 2.  Maul and Dooku get kick butt fight scenes that are well done, but you just have no feeling for the villain since he never really does anything villainous.  They just seem to be kick butt force/saber users.  They should have been wreaking havoc all through the film.

Now the CGI.  The real reason to see this movie has problems.  First, I really could careless how cool some doorway is rendered.  There is probably some five minutes of watching people walk into a CGI doorway.  It has zero impact on the film other than having the audience say "cool looking cave entrance" to themselves.  Second, not every scene needs CGI in it.  Some of the clone scenes just needed some guy in a suit and it would have looked better.  Computers can do some awesome rendering, but why go through the trouble when the audience just doesn't care.  Finally, having every scene in a movie CGI'd makes the big CGI scenes less cool.  Use it where it makes sense.  You don't have to beat us over the head with it.

So what did I like about this movie?  Cool fight scenes (the Obi Jango fight was excellent), some great CGI, no annoying JarJar, and well it is StarWars.

Was it better than Episode I?  Let me just say this.  It is the same movie except they ditched the Jar and replaced the bad kid scenes with bad love scenes.  So if you like the bad love scenes better than the JarJar scenes, it is a better movie.  Personally, I found Episode I mostly painful.  Episode II is mostly boring with the same cool fight scene.  I will take the boring StarWars over the painful one.  Lets just hope Episode 3 is fun.  That is what is missing most from these last two flicks.  You will have a great movie if you put the fun back in, give us a villain we can really hate (or even better identify with), and add more action.

05/15/2002

Posted a new version of AC Tool.  You can find it at the AC Tool Page.

05/14/2002

Did another site overhaul.  I am getting close to the final format of the website.  I will be posting more useful personal news once I finish the image history, sitemap, get images loading into a small JScript window, and get My Fun Page to pop its results into a small window as well.  Afterwards, I have a ton of content to add into the Sound Page and a new motorcycle resource section to put up as well.

05/08/2002

Finally posted the new site.  I still have A LOT to overhaul, but this is the new look.  Let me know if you find something that needs to be updated or changed.

05/06/2002

Thanks to all the emails for getting me off my duff and posting a bunch of new images into the gallery. You can view the log of posted images in the Image History. It took about 30 minutes to FTP up this batch, so there are bunches.

Friend (Marc in the About Me section) got run over. His truck was written off. Went and bought a new one so getting ready for a new car stereo install. Doing everything this time. Hopefully, I will get some fiberglass experience. In similar personal news, redid the back of my Blazer and all the wires as well. Found out what a crap job the installer at Hi-Fi Buys did. I have given up taking my truck to shops with "experts" for this kind of stuff. They may be good, but they rush through your vehicle so they can move onto the next one. Anyway, last little tidbit. Managed to install a sub box and some bass blockers in a 99 Chrysler M300 over the weekend. If you have one of these, email me. I can hook you up with the wiring spec. Sure would have saved us a TON of time if we had it to start with.

Just an FYI to all you car stereo guys out there. I just finished hooking up an uber cheap Blaupunkt amp (75x2) and compared it to my PPI PC2400 and it sounded pretty good. I would suggest buying the 150x2, but for a $150-200 amp I was way impressed. It is super small, practically no heat, and well cheap. It isn't going to win any competitions, but if your looking for something inexpensive and a no fuss install this is a great place to start.

Other news includes my friends finally out pacing me in the shopping circuit (I used to be king of the hill). Steve (in the about me) bought that 300k+ house and furnished it with essentials like a foosball and ping-pong table. Jon (in the about me as well) just bought a nice house 150ish I think and a couple new motorcycles not to mention a nice riding lawn mower. I feel so inferior now. However, my bank account is in a pretty good mood.

05/04/2002

Here is the new web page I have been promising forever and a day.  I cheated and bought a template so I could get this puppy done quick fast.  I think it looks great, but the flash at the top could be a bit distracting.

I still have a bunch of work to do and it will take several more weeks to clean up each of the web pages and convert their style.

Anyway, I will be posting a bunch of new images and actual news in a few days.  Just wanted to get the new look and feel up.

05/03/2002

Spiderman was an awesome flick!  I used to be a comic book freak in my younger years.  I am SO glad to see Marvel getting their stuff together and shooting a couple movies a year out.  Still have The Hulk, DareDevil, and another X-Men to go.  Lets hope those movies are as good as Spiderman.  If so, I will be one REALLY happy camper.

On a similar note, I have been watching the Starship Troopers animated series on DVD at it is spectacular.  I liked the movie a lot, but the series adds a real sense of war on the human race by some very intelligent hyper-reproducing hyper-evolving bugs.  The movies are completely computer generated (like Final Fantasy the movie).  The animation is phenomenal, but doesn't hold up to Final Fantasy's overall quality.  You should check one out.
